The most fun way to make iced tea is to put tea bags in a clear, lidded container and let the sun do the work. I haven’t been able to think that far ahead lately, so I have been making it on the stove. In minutes, you can have perfect iced tea.
Take one quart of water, and place in a pot on the stove. Add two family-sized tea bags to the water, and place on medium heat. After little bubbles start to appear on the top of the tea, turn the heat off. Do not boil or simmer, you are looking for small bubbles.
Fill pitcher up to 3/4 the way with ice, and a couple of dehydrated or fresh lemon slices. Pour hot tea over ice and lemons. I like to throw in bee balm as well. Perfect unsweetened iced tea. I make a fresh pitcher for our dinner every night.
Bee balm is lemony. Yum!
I never thought of putting in bee balm, how interesting. I will have to try that. What kind of flavor does that have?
