Slow Cooker Rice Pudding

Rice Pudding

My husband’s side of the family was just in town this weekend, so I had nine people to feed. Besides my daughter’s birthday cake, I wanted to offer a dessert, but was very short on time. My solution was this quick to prepare, slow cooker rice pudding, a recipe which does not require you to pre-cook the rice.  Not only does this take just a few minutes to put together, but this dessert is very economical, especially considering I only pay 32 cents a pound for rice at Costco. And, who doesn’t love a comforting, old-fashioned dessert? This dish is a crowd pleaser.

I doubled this recipe of slow cooker rice pudding, and it made a ton. The recipe as listed makes about 6 servings.

Slow Cooker Rice Pudding

3/4 cup  white rice, rinsed
3 cups milk
3/4 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup melted butter
Spray slow cooker with cooking spray. Combine rinsed rice, milk, sugar, spices and salt all in the slow cooker. Pour butter over rice mixture. Cover slow cooker, and cook on high for about 3 hours. Serve hot or cold.

    wow wow wow it is so amazing . my family absolutly love this. i took it to a party once and now every time we get invited somewere i get asked to bring this pudding it is so amazing thank you for sharing this recipe
