DIY Frozen Meat Crumbles

Hamburger Crumbles

So this isn’t really a recipe, but more like an idea. I’m all about making your own convenience foods, from seasoning blends, to self-prepped packaged frozen vegetables. I also make frozen ground beef and sausage crumbles as quick meal helpers.

To make all-purpose ground beef crumbles, I brown ground beef with salt, pepper, minced garlic, and onion. I drain (but never rinse, like my mom did in the 70’s – – yuck!) I sometimes make taco meat crumbles as well. For the sausage I brown and drain. I put the crumbles on a baking tray, using my silicone baking mat so the crumbles don’t stick. Parchment paper will do too. Freeze the crumbles, and then place in a gallon bag. I use these crumbles in chili, soups, casseroles, quiche, pasta, or on pizza. Because these are flash frozen, just pull out what you need, instead of thawing out larger portions.

Making meal helpers allows to put a healthy dinner on the table each night, without the cost or preservatives. A little more work up front saves money, time, and dishes in the end.

Yes we rinsed in the 70’s to get the unhealthy animal fat out. Now we could wash it with
Tide and not remove the antibiotics and hormones!!

Merci de cette découverte ! un formidable aquarelliste effectivement ! Ma technique « aquaphotorelle » n’est pas vraiment un secret de fabrication, j’expliquerai ça en détail un de ces jours ! (d’ailleurs rien de bien sorcier !)

And having a healthy skin means less need for concealers (or anti-aging creams), so more money ! lolPersonally, I think being healthy is a kind of beauty. A clear complexion and well cared hair can only make someone look better, even if considered “ugly” :)

Yazid o muawiya sa också trosbekännelsen, men det är väl så ni tänker, folk kan vara tyranner men så länge dom säger trosbekännelsen ska dom respekteras

Yes you did. You rinsed brown beef and pasta. Both no-nos. :)

Good idea Laura! I rinsed it in the 70’s? That was weird. I don’t remember it. I must have been trying to get every drop of grease out. :).
