Dehydrating Strawberries

It’s not spring yet, but in Florida they must be picking strawberries. At the bulk section at the farmer’s market a few weeks ago, I got Florida strawberries for 50 cents a pound. This week at Aldi, strawberries are 99 cents a pound. These are a stock-up prices.

Dehydrate Strawberries

If you are new to dehydrating, you should try strawberries. They dry quickly, and there is no prep work other than washing and slicing. My kids snack on dried strawberries, and I also put them in homemade granola. Dried strawberries rehydrate beautifully in oatmeal and granola bars. I just ran out from last spring, so boy was I happy when I snagged a good deal. Cut the strawberries 1/4 inch thick and dry. Easy!
